“How to do the work” Dr.Nicole LePera
If you’ve experienced trauma in your life, which 64% of Canadians report they have, then you’ve probably taken part in some form or another of psychotherapy.
If finding a therapist you “click” with isn’t enough of a task, if you are lucky enough to find this, you hope that what they offer also works. We often get discouraged and use our valuable therapy hours to debrief what’s going on in our lives rather than getting to core issues.
Can you relate to the above? Well, so can I, but I haven’t stopped searching; recently, I came across author & therapist Dr. Nicole LePera.
So far, LePera has come out with three titles.
1. “How to do the Work”
2. How to meet yourself”
3. How to be the love you seek”
I haven’t had the opportunity to read the third title but can speak to titles one and two; for today’s purposes, I would like to talk about “How to Do the Work” – THIS BOOK HAS CHANGED MY LIFE.
First, it’s easy to read and not full of jargon, leaving you googling half of the text. Secondly, she talks about small, simple changes anyone can make that don’t feel overwhelming or impossible.

LePera’s website also has other free resources, including links to videos and a podcast.
I’d love to hear how LePera’s work has helped you, as it has impacted my emotional reactivity, identifying my attachment style and how to self-recognize.
